72 Bucket list restomod - It begins!

Post by 72ultraorange »

Hello 510realm, I have been reading this forum for some time and working to find a 72 510 -- like the one I had so much fun driving and hacking on as a teenager. Bought a 4-door project car in late 2019 and am finally digging in. Plans are to swap in a SR20DET that came with it and replace the suspension, interior, and get this beauty cruising again. I also plan to post many of the original parts that are salvaged.

I look forward to the advice and wisdom of all those that have made this journey before me... at this point i am unfortunately "all in" on this... 8)

I'm in Big "D"allas - not many 510s here... Looking for some west coast help :D

Love it... does your car still have the paint code sticker under the hood? Looks a LOT like mine...

shaddai, the paint code sticker is still there but almost unreadable. It’s a 918 - plan to respray with HOK Ultra Orange.

Hey Owen, pretty sure they are 15" Rota RBs -- came with it... Once I get suspension and brakes replaced, I want to check the fitment and put some more meat on the back for the SR. Looking at 3 different wheels right now -- just shopping - Volk Racing TE37v, Atara Racing Pisang, and of course will check on RS Watanabes (the hunt continues) :)
