New guy here in Milwaukee...

Post by mhinkens »

Hello all,

Saying hello to establish myself and get started on this awesome forum. Been reading a lot and used the buyers guide and more to help guide me in buying my first Datsun 510 last month.

I am already neck deep in ideas and research and loving it and can't wait to see where this take me.

Until then, here are some pictures of my dime as it sits now.

Welcome, you joined on the right day. Car looks good.

I grew up in Milwaukee and brought my first 510 from CA in the 80's. I don't recognize the building in the background of the 2nd picture, where is that?

Make sure to take it to Road America in September for the VSCDA event.

Thanks for the welcome! That is in front of St. Francis Seminary on the lake front in Bayview. Gorgeous grounds (until they kick you out!). Tell me more about the VSDCA event, please. Never been to Road America, but this may be the year.

I should have figured that out from the lakefront location. Been probably over 30 years since I have been to that campus though.

You are missing out if you have never been to RA. I still try to make it to at least one event per year. It is a jewel of the midwest, and America's National Park of Speed afterall.

Here are some links. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I have been involved with VSCDA for over 20 years.
