Keith;
Art also passed along to me all of his collection of club newsletters. And as you can well imagine, and the enduring legacy to Art- they were in perfect order...
I was the 34th member of the club, I can remember Art was #78 - there were over 500 total members through the clubs life until we just went full digital in the late 00's. My own collection is full of holes. I was quite young when I joined, and I moved around - a lot. Job's changed frequently, it was an economically unstable time. Then I spent a year in Australia, another summer/fall taking a somewhat extended drive across this vast county of our (Vancouver to Newfoundland and back over 4 months). So newsletters weren't always consistent until about 2003 when I settled down finally.

Anyways, we can compare notes one day on what we have - sounds like a good thing to do at 510 Day at my place in May! 510 Day falls on a Friday this year - I can't get everyone out of here before 1am on week nights, I may as well tell everyone to bring a tent since most wont work Saturday! Actually I really look forward to it.

Funny, one of my lists from 2006...has you at #44, Art at #80, me at #24.

Glad to know there is a complete set for posterity.

I did find the futuristic story that I was able to scan with OCR, so now I just need to tidy it up. It will be interesting to see what people think on this go-round.

That's funny.

Going through the Bert Vorgon Archives today...

I found a brand new NISSAN wind shell, XL.

From back in the 90's when Nissan sponsored me with swag....

2 brand new white NISSAN MOTORSPORTS T shirts, XL.

I also have a few sew on crests, Blue, NISSAN...they are nice

So, for 510 Day, try to remind me and I will bring and donate to those of you larger than me.....

Yes, mostly due to aging memory.

Your numbers seem correct Keith.

Swag give away sounds good. Seems we'll have a few visitors from the island as well for 510 Day.

After a few hours work I was able to sort out my story scanned out of a 1994 Newsletter, with my OCR program. I was quite amazed at how well it actually worked as it is based out of my simple Brother printer.

It is now posted to my TALES FROM THE GREAT ROLLING DYNO thread.

As I sit in my socially isolated fortress here in rainy White Rock, sipping a cold beer and re-loading the 12 gauge for another wave of Covid Zombies, I thought I would bump this one LAST time:

DOES ANYBODY LOCAL WANT THESE?

If not, I have decided to cut the front covers off the nice colour ones and then off to the recycling bin. I have tons of time at the moment and want to keep motoring through all the stuff I dragged home from work.

Potentially found a new home!

Once, if, maybe, this virus stops, a wealth of history, stories and pictures moves on.

I actually don't feel bad, as I LIVED and BREATHED it for a lot longer than the life of the 510 Club of B.C., and, my albums and stories are still buried in my archives.

I will keep the calendars, they are so nice. Will be lots of boxes of these maybe still sitting around, as our membership was very healthy at the height of the Club.

My next mission is to get rid of all the newspaper stuff I have, to do with my past work at the various gold companies I worked at, the scams, scandals and skulduggery, that went on in the precious metals Industry. I have written now about most of the main ones and the newspapers only mean anything to my good friend who survived them with me. It is now past history long lost.

After a nice sunny drive out to Abby, the Newsletters have gone to a good home, as has the How To Modify book!

Even had some bugs on the windshield, spring MUST be here. Came back via Zero Avenue, the American Border Guards were scattered all along there, they must be afraid we might smuggle Universal Health care down there, heaven forbid.

Lets hope the other BIG grow-op that that has shut down, gets going on growing FOOD.

Day like today sure gets me antsy to get at the 510.

Thanks Chad and Ron for helping me clean my basement out.

Thank you for the news letters and the delivery. Looking thru the early letters brings back a few memories.
