2012 Christmas Party Saturday December 22nd Surrey

Post by Byron510 »

Eh all you Realm heads in the Lower Mainland, it's that time of year again. Time for Aron's wife to way our do herself and feed us all crazy for what has become a bit of a tradition in the last few years - A 510 Club Christmas Party at Aron’s place in Surrey.

16767 85A Ave, Surrey BC, 6pm Saturday December 22nd

It's the Saturday night just before Christmas this year.

All Datsun nuts are welcome; it's a cozy crowd as usual in a nice quite suburban setting that Aron calls home. Come, be merry - and if you’re planning on being really merry, bring your goods and a driver. If you'd like to bring something else special food wise, you're certainly welcome to do so.

If you are planning on attending, drop Aron or myself a line with the numbers you'll be bringing. We have split up the 510 Club phone list, and will also do a call out as usual.

We look forward to seeing you there - Merry Christmas.

As of last night, we have quite a few old time members who have not attended in years past.

Also I talked with Art Hughes this past week, he's had a bit of a rough stretch. I offered to pick him up and drive him out to the party. If he's feeling up to it health wise, he may join us as well.

I look forward to it Aron, thanks for supplying the venue again, hope to see the usual suspects on the 22nd, and maybe a few new faces as well. All Datsun guys are welcome.

So, I was sitting there last night, sipping my beer and having some shortbread, when the phone rings.

It's my brother Rimski, calling from Lake Bullshitski, mid day there I guess. I ask him how it's going, the usual. I complain about the cold, damp weather, my SAD's has kicked in big time, he says it's -30 there, so I really should not complain, the Lada is buried in 5 feet of snow!
Anyhow, he got a satellite call from Santa, who had heard about the 510 Club party. Funny how we can talk to guys on the moon, yet, cell phone calls drop out on the other side of town., so Santa asked Rimski to relay the message. Seems Santa was leaving the North early, to stop by Rimski's, to pick up the latest brake setup for the Sleigh. As Santa has put on some weight, he needed some better stopping power for the ole' overloaded sleigh. Santa was curious as to how many may be attending the Club party, as he might do an early pass over the lower mainland, just testing the brakes in a rainy climate. You know how water can effect today's electronics, and ole Santa does not want to auger into a Richmond ditch, when it all goes wrong. Reindeer are not cheap anymore, and the Animal Rights guys are all over him when something happens. Last year's incident, with the Bullet train and the faulty GPS, is still a sore spot in his side, literally and figuratively.

I said I would check for him.

Numbers look good - 15 members plus the significant others and family that get brought along. Should be a full house ar Arons place.

Aron, again thanks for supplying the location.

So, as I sit here drinking my morning java, I see the world did not end, which is good, as I still have a lot left to do!

Is there a final guy head count, as to who is coming?
