The service was excellent, Art planned it out and orchestrated it himself down to the readings and music! I discovered more about him at the memorial than he told me in person! A wonderful person, he will be remembered and missed.

Did not know that I knew him until I recognized his car. I think it was two years ago at Canby. Had a brief chat with him about Datsuns.

I asked around at the service if any anyone (in our 510 group) contacted you guys down there but none of us knew your phone number unfortunately. It would've been nice to have his old car there but that is a long haul there and back for sure!
Nice to see the Mustang guys show up that day with a few old rides as well. Some may not know but Art was REALLY into Mustangs before his 'ol blue 510.

Here's a bunch of pics from Art's service:

Just found out that Art passed, he was the classiest and most articulate man I knew. Art seemed to be friends with everyone. I know old blue in the shop is missing him. Heaven just got one of the nicest guys, he will probably try to form a car club in heaven. God speed to you Art Hughes. You will be missed.

Still hard to believe its been 2 years since Arthurs passing :( Im still maintaining Art as Arthur would. Shes had her lil issues with the Alt going out, and then a gas stations fuel caused the carb to have issues (plunger swelled up due to ethanol crud fuel down here) so had to rebuild the carb. Other than that shes exactly the same, still being driven, being shown and loved.

Really hope hes happy with how ive been taking care of her up there. Cant wait till the weather clears up and i can pull her out again.

Would you ever modify the car ?
Lowered, 5 spd tranny, and some wheels ?

That is NOT what this car is about. This car will always be a living memorial to Art, and his love of it.

It is now in the hands of the perfect person to continue it's legacy!

Thanks bertvorgon....and to the other guy....seriously? Hope a preserved car never falls into your lap >.> This car is about being like it was from the factory, there are only a few like it left in the condition it is in. I can see a modified 510 any day at any show, but to see something like Art is a rarity.
