my tragic 510 story

Post by brad-evans95 »

as you all might have heard my orange 510 got into an accident. im making this post to let everyone know what really happened and to keep everyone up to date on the repair status. so what happened to it was that i was at my girlfriends house one night watching a movie, and i had my 510 parked on the street for no more then 5 mins (i guess thats all it takes....) when i heard a really loud BANG and ran outside to see a black minivan take off and my beloved 510 hit and moved down the street about 2 meters. at first i didnt even look at my car because i was chasing after this guy on foot, which luckily we got his licence plate number before he took off. when i went back to see at my car i couldnt even look at it, he managed to clip the back left corner of my 510, and he hit it really good too. the rcmp showed up soon after and the cop was a very big car guy, who himself restored about 3 cars, and went out of his way to find the driver after he saw how much this car meant to me. we then took it to ICBC the next day (who where also devastated to see such a beautiful car off the road) and we agreed to attempt to fix it, if we can keep the cost low and find parts. Tyson out at Big Time Motors was my first reaction to send the car too, and he is now looking after the repair. we need a drivers side quarter panel (left rear) a rear bumper and a tail light panel. i know my car is in good hands with Tyson out at big time motors, and i will be posting pictures as soon as i get them off my phone, and i will keep the realm informed on the repair status of my car.

and i will be posting pictures later tonight

That truly blows, I've cruised together with many years with it's previous owner, Uncle Gordon at the wheel. He always stayed with me too, no matter how slow I was. I have great memories of this car ..... Glad you're getting it repaired right though!

Sure sorry that happened, at least in Tyson's hands you know it will be done right. He is likely the only one left on the lower mainland that has a full knowledge of how they are put together and can source some parts.

It was mentioned that the guy was drunk...can we do an old fashioned stoning or something? I'm hate this, and I'm generally a pretty fair guy, but I have no tolerance for people who put themselves ahead of everyone else is this fashion. What if my 3 year old son was on that nice quiet street. What if my 6 year old daughter was crossing that same quite street to visit her friend two door down...

I'm glad you are physically ok, but if this jack off has a court date, I'd be more than happy to hackle from the bench. You have the right to get up and say something to the judge before sentencing, I'd be fully there to support you as many of us local 510 guys would.

Man my heart goes out to you. Keep us posted on the parts sourcing, I hope you can find what you need. I know the insurance company didn't give you much to play with.

I don't wanna comment on that on a public forum, the owner of the van wasn't charged because we Couldn't put him behind the wheel, but when the cop did talk to him, he was drunk.

I have a NOS Left rear Quarter panel ... let me know if you are interested I would part with it for a fair price under these circumstances.

I despise people that drive under any imparting influence, as a 16 year vet behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler I've seen tragic TRAGIC deaths, most of witch is never the intoxicated piece of shit, thank god he didn't kill anyone and that your baby is back on the road!
