But what you have neglected to realize is that EVERY DAY is 510 day if you own one.

Feel free to "celebrate" in any manner you see fit.

We'll revisit this one in October Ron.

In the meantime - hope to see all you locals out for 510 Day at my place on Sunday.

So who scheduled Mother’s Day on 510 Day anyways... sheesh! :D

See you all after you take your mom to breakfast or brunch.

NO...I forgot about this mention....

AFTER Hana, you continue on the backside of Maui, which has been gravel more or less for the whole way. After about 20 miles, and just after this amazing old church, we hit this new pavement, billiard ball smooth, for 40 miles! :D :D :D

I've been there!

Do watch out for Sharks in Maui waters….I was in the lineup at freight trains, Maalaea and one of the locals says very matter of factly "Legs up" as a very late tiger shark glided through everyone. It was very surreal.

The day before we were going to go to Makena Beach, a local woman was killed by a shark, put us right off going there.

Give me grizzly bears and cougars any time. At least they can't sneak up from below!

That being said, in three weeks Matt and I are heading into the heart of the Southern Grizzly bear population in B.C., on a wilderness back pack trip. Where we have to be careful is when the trail is narrow and covered, with the wind coming at us. This is when you can surprise a bear and they don't like that. A month ago a woman and her boy friend surprised a grizzly, it did a "feint" charge, swatted her and broke her arm. She is so very lucky! Encounters usually don't end that well with a grizzly.

As this is quite a hike and weight is an issue, I won't be taking my "Defender"..... :(

That is cool.

Years ago, we were out on my brothers boat, in the Islands of the Broughton Archepaligo, when we came upon a bear swimming between the Islands. There as a spot on the mainland that is not too wide a channel, so in good weather it is obviously not a problem for these guys. Same with deer, amazing what they cross also.
