Hey Lou, we had some right tasty venison on Saturday over at my buddy's place and the time before the bear was pretty good too  ! I say you convert the yogi into jerky!

Bet your dogs were embarrassed.

Last month I was biking in the woods and came around a bend a bit fast and just barely (pun intended) saw the business end disappearing into the thimble berries. I stopped and waited while he sniffed the air while hidden inside the bushes. I made some small noise and he lumbered off. All I could see was the bushes moving.

Wasn't sure where to put this post......

Cruising down the Island yesterday, at 120 Km in the Oddessy, and just past Parksville, I see a small car way ahead of me. HMMM..looks like a 510....I finally catch up to him at Nanoose Bay...he is zipping along pretty good too...I lean over and wave...and they look at me like......."Who the hell was that?!" I need the get a small Datsun sign I can hold up, at least someone would at least know that conection....

It was a nice blue 510, stock looking, and continued south towards Victoria, when I turned off for Duke Point.
I thought it was going to be Mike Yarn, but, I did not recognize the person. Any ideas.....?

And, speaking of the Island, wow, did it rain on the way up early friday morning, classic Island torrential rain. Fall colours were sure nice, somethings are still very green though, like fall is late this year.

Keith,

I wonder if it was Scott H. - he lives in the courtney area I believe.

Ahhhh rats..I wasn't paying that close attention....as I was trying to weave my way through traffic...take a picture....not sideswipe him.....and make my ferry connection..

Yes, the rain!!! That trip up Menzies Mountain, just outside of Campbell River, I can count on both hands the number of times I have done it in good weather, other than that it has been either torrential rain, fog, snow, or all combinations...at once!

That was really heavy rain Friday morning, glad my Honda has really good tires on it, as I tend to blaze along at a very good clip.

That should be my last trip over there, till late winter

Lou, bear droppings up our block in middle of the road last week. Never seen 'evidence' that close before. In Cumberland this morning I passed a tossed garbage can with a 'calling card'. Damn! Looks like all they eat right now is rose hips.
