2008 Club Calendar

Post by rnorrish »

The final two weeks are upon us.

These will be printed for December 1, and the printers need a week to make them up.

We currently have 66 members, so that is the number I will be starting with.
Those of you with a 2007, you know what they look like - '08's won't be much different style wise.

For those who didn't get one, the photos used last year are all posted here.

if anyone who isn't a member of the Club, or if you are, and would like me to order additional ones for you, please let me know.
The estimated prices will be:
$25 +shipping for non-members
$20 +shipping for members

Shipping:
$5 within Canada
$10 to the USA

This possibly could change, depending on the final order quantity. Last year there was a price break at 84 copies.

As an update, there are about 6 confirmed photos/months. This leaves 6+Cover left to go.

In the past, it has always seemed to be left a surprise on who makes it. Not this year - I want to let people know that they can still send in photos... as they haven't made the cut.

Just to let you know, just posting randomly to the 'Realm doesn't count.
Please email me with your photos to show your interest.

Like last year, I need one awesome shot for the color, full-page, top page, and some snap shots to add in as B&W filler on the side of the days.

I am currently accepting shots form anybody, as i haven't heard from Aron on what was decided on Saturday regarding non-member cars. Last year we had 3 (Ben Shiner from Seattle, WA, Richard Sultan from Portland, OR, and Duke Schimmer from Santa Rosa, CA who is the current posterchild.) I feel this is completely acceptable, especially if I don't get 12 members' cars. :P

Variety is the spice of life! Therefore, it doesn't need to be a show car, just a good photograph.

PLEASE E-MAIL PHOTOS TO editor510 AT hotmail DOT com

current(ly) (growing) shortlist:
Derek Young's Tagra Car
Denis Gange's Tire Smoker
John Theissen's Stocker Wagon
Terry Hackman's Resto-Mod
Tyson Hartmann's 'Blue'bird
Jim Froula's Vintage Coupe
Cam Thorkleson's Grabber Orange
Andrew Wong-Moon's Family Cruiser
Cam Bonner's Striped Wagon
Byron Meston's Bronze
Mandeep Missan's Clean 2-door
Keith Law's Turbo Monster
Bryan Feldman's (old) Yellow Fever
Bob Esseltine's Grasshopper (going for year #3)
Murray ?'s Yellow NISMO 4 door
Paul Corbett's GOON

FYI: You get a calendar free if you are a member. Membership is only $40. and you get ~10 newsletters for the rest of the year. and free food sometimes.

boo-yah - MADE IT!! hahah - Any chance I can request JULY, considering that is my birthday month?

I don't recall any dialogue regarding non-member calendar cars at the meeting, though Ray offered photos of his 240Z that we politely declined. If you're this close to press time and still short of submissions from club members, I personally don't have a problem accepting quality photos from non-members.

Am I a member? If not, how do I join? I've worn out the 510 club of BC shirt that I bought, but I don't think I'm a member.

I did get Keith's shot, and it's a doozy!

I'm hanging on to it, but I am trying to fill the calendar with non-repeaters.

Here is a question for those of us who are not members but want a calendar... Who do we send the money to and where (address) do we send it?
I will take ONE.

^ speaking of which... I think the club should have a PayPal account - I think that would make membership transactions much more expedient and convenient ( I waited close to 6 months for my membership cheque to get cashed), and that would make it easier for out-of-town folks too.

Wow, Denis, that's a great photo! I have very few pictures of my car on course.

I think this is one of my favorites - It was taken at Placentia, NL during the 2006 Targa Newfoundland.

Well, I'd be the guy who officially sends out the calendars.
PM me,
or email me at byron510@telus.net ,
or just send payment to the address listed at the bottom of the 510 Club Registration PDF form in the 510 Club Information page:

Unit 402 – 328 Clarkson St.
New Westminster BC
V3L 5S3

Just send me a PM letting me know that payment is en route.

Terry, and anyone else who wants to place an order for a 2008 calendar, contact me as soon as you can so that we can guarantee you one. Prices are listed above, and Rich did an excellent job on them last year, I don’t think he’ll disappoint you this year. Richard has a very good eye for detail when it comes to this stuff.

updated the list.

keep sending in submissions. if they don't get used for the Calendar, they make great colour covers!

don't be intimidated by the list of cars. I don't care who's car or what's been done. I prefer quality photos, even if the car's rusty! dented! my car made it last year, albeit a bit biased-ly. and no offence, but so did Duke's half-primered car!

I never did get an email from arabian_ryda and his green JDM-esque car...

what about some cars from WA? OR? CA?
