What about using the saved money from not taking it to a place to go buy a shop manual for it? I believe they're only about $15... And well worth it.

buy a manual! or get someone else to do it...
it's a simple job, four wheel nuts, two other bolts, remove pads, and then go in reverse. tada!
for the rears though, there's a few more minor details, just springs though.

Brakes.. -shudders-

I am having considerable trouble trying to get brake pads for the front, and a complete new rear brake system (New drums and shoes, I mean... )

Anybody know of parts that will bolt right on - the same as what is on the PL 510 (71) but comes off a different car?
Like the brakes from a GMC will work on a chevy, if you can't find "CHEVY only" brakes.... you k now what I Mean

do the 280zx brake upgrade on the front, and go with Zcar drums/shoes (70-78, 240-280Z) in the back, and there you go problem sloved. OR you can do what i did and go with 4 wheel discs from a 280zx.

So does octane effect brake pad wear also ?

OF crourse tobie. Let me explain:
With the higher octane rating your car is soo much faster. Well, with this increase in speed you must of course still stop. This means applying the brakes harder, and generally for a longer period of time. which effectively wears out your brake pads faster!

Is it the same for an HL 510 tho ? Doesn't the HL have a solid rear axle, making it a little different or harder to do ?
