$200 Datsun

Post by jason »

Apparently $200 doesn't buy much of a Datsun any more .... In this case it's a 1982 200sx Hatchback with quite a bit of rust. On the plus side it came with almost a full tank of gas and it's got a nice set of 14x5.5" Nissan factory mags with all the centre caps. It's got power everything including the mirrors, er mirror, it seems to be missing one  ! It pulls strong through all 5 gears, but, wow it's a lot mushy in ride and handling. The brakes work well and it only has 151000 kilometers on the Z22e, so looks like I have a new donor  !

I hid it away so my wife wouldn't know I had it too 8) !

I waited for a long while before I called him too, I got the beast started on Friday and made him a rediculous, low ball offer only because it ran so well once I got it started and he took it  ! Oh well, can't beat the price ....

Yes, but did you manage to grind him down to that last 1/2 bowl of noodles? :D

(that reminds me - we have to meet up for a bowl of '#15 large' soon, or maybe a lunch at Fenders)

Don't worry about Mary - Jason blames all of the old car hulks on me. "...but Mary, Rob made me get it. He needed the ...moldy air freshener! Yeah, that's it!"

Nice find. Now you've got a bunch of EFI spares for the black wagon! (we still have to 'squirt one of your DD cars to run most efficiently on 87 octane pump fuel - I know we can pull several more MPGs out of these engines.)
