need some 510 info.

Post by 4door-r »

I'm new here and have been reading a few post and it seems like you can use many different suspension, brake, motors and rear end setups. I have been in the honda game for awhile and just want something different and I love the look of the 510 and I know the sr20det can fit in the 510. I'm just do some research before I get one for a build up. Any and all info is very appreciated.

Just go to the top of this page and click on "search" and then type in "sr20det" and you'll get lotsa info about peeps on the site doing this swap... But be careful 'cause not everyone here knows what they're talking about. Once you read a bit, you should be able to figure out who is talking out of their bunghole.
This is a good thread:

http://www.the510realm.com/index.php?na ... ht=sr20det

But there are so many threads on this topic already, any new threads will just be rehash. You also might want to check out the "Turbo Q&A Forum" sticky at the top of the Technical section for an exhaustive exploration into what some gurus have to say on the subject. Get comfortable, cause there's alot!

Of course, if you ask some specific questions, I'm sure you will get some good answers. But please read and do your research before you ask "How much does it cost?" or "What kind of <insert part here> are you guys using?" Just a heads up, most of the people on this board who have this engine are in various stages of the long process of fabrication and installation. So you may not get the final product reviews you may be looking for. I hope this points you in the right direction. And btw, the SR20DET is one of many many motors that "can fit in the 510". So you may want to decide what you want to do with the car, and assess how much time and money you can afford to spend. Good luck!

Oh, and it usually takes more than 40 minutes to get a decent reply. You might want to wait a day or two... not everyone hangs out here all the time. In the meantime, check out the rest of the forum for details! :)
