Well you learn something new every day. Dear old dad sent me this link about Nissan's own Rotory development program. It used 2X 500cc peripheral port design right out of the box. And the article goes on to say that the 110 Sylvia/200SX (Moonbuggy) was originally intended to debut with a Rotory engine. I knew that Nissan had played with the Rotory engine for racing development up to a four rotor design like GM had intended, but I had no idea that the 1200 came this close to production with one.
