That's a weird mix of pedestrian and luxury brands...

VW has said they want to be the largest (i.e. sell the most cars) manufacturer.

I don't think Toyota will ever be passed, not anytime soon anyway. I'm surprised Mercedes is number two; seems like 3/5 cars I see is a Toyota/Lexus.

This is meaningless without knowing what it is that's being ranked.

Total sales, profit, recalls, number of employees, customer loyalty, environmental lawsuits, posters on bedroom walls, what?

When determining the top 100 most valuable global brands, Interbrand examines three key aspects that contribute to a brand’s value:
The financial performance of the branded products or service
The role the brand plays in influencing consumer choice
The strength the brand has to command a premium price, or secure earnings for the company

---------------

I'm pretty sure that all means next to nothing and is completely subjective. Given the ho-ha that the "Apple is #1" brought (and Interbrands fawning over Cook who hasn't actually done anything), it looks like little more than a PR stunt for Interbrand (and various top companies).

Aside from the GT-R, is there anything in Nissan's current stable that is attractive to any of us?

NO!!!!!!!! Most certainly NOT. Nissan has been useless since the mid 90s.

I thought the Juke was hideous when it was first revealed, but they've grown on me. They seem like a fun little car. 1.6 I-4 AWD.
