40DCOES "Desperately in need of some help!!!"

Hello everyone.

I have acquired a set of 40DCOE'S and have been rebuilt, reejetedand, and installed on an L18 with a ported head and grind cam. The issue is that it has been running rich and falls on its face when you slam the gas pedal and blows smoke out of the exhaust. It was running like a champ with a 32/36 with no problems. Im looking for a good starting point on jets sizes, can anyone help me with a good starting point. any information would be greatly beneficial for her.

Thanks again Realm.

It would be good to know what you have in there now and whether they are Weber's or Mikuni or....?
Do a search, there was someone recently with some webers who was having issues and some good tuning sites were linked.

See if this will move you in the right direction.http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/d ... ical_i.htm
How do your plugs look? For the time and money many sets of jets cost, you could get yourself a wide band A/F ration gauge.

I had similar issues when I installed a pair of 40DCOE on my L20B with a WebCam 91.

As of today, I still have a slight hesitation in acceleration from idle, but can live with it if I don't' stomp on the gas.
