This was my dd till just recently.I drove it for the last 8 months till I got a truck for a daily driver.

I paid a bit much for it. 2800$ and have done alot of work to it just fixing messed up stuff.window seals ,tierods yad yada.
Plan on a full build after the goon is done.
Plans are beams 6speed 3sge.ae86 coilover, brakes and rearend.soda blast, repaint and redo the interior.
But like I said it's staying together till the goonis done. Idrive it when my 88 Toyota 4x4 is getting worked on.
I WILL NOT have new cars they suck.
I can post more pics if anyone cares about old yotas.

I always wanted to get one of those celicas and make it look like Elenore the shell looks real similar to a mustang fastback so with some front end mods i think it would be possible

I have this sitting dissasembled in my garage .it's a 1970 model 2tg scca crate motor.it's revs to 10k and produced roughly 210hp. A 10,000$ crate motor I got from a guy who tried to put it in a 86 and failed.he left it inthe car OUTSIDE and left the ports open so itwas locked when I got it.and to rebuild it is a chunk of change that I don't have.

That is a production 2T engine with a Yamaha-designed G-series head (Yamaha designed all of the G-series heads for Toyota). I highly doubt that it revs to 10,000rpm. James' 2T-G would do 7500rpm, but valve float issues prevents any more rpms... Either way, it is an incredible sounding engine, but only a 2-valve per cylinder design.

Although those heads are nice, the actual short-run race engines made by Toyota's Technocraft division are the real deal and don't have much in common with the production engines. Case in point the 503E versus the 3S-G series engines. Similar, yet miles apart...

If you need info/help/parts for your 2T-G, you should also join the Australian Toymods forum - those guys are a wealth of knowledge, and pretty funny too! ( http://www.toymods.org.au/site/ )

Is it true this model was only produced one year?

I can vouch for how nice the 2T-G sounds.
James Cololla was one of the nicest sounding 4's I've heard - ever - in a street car. Honestly, it was great to hear that thing go by at full song. I'm pretty sure he has video of it somewhere.
