Tonight I got the motor painted and oil pan installed, hung the motor back up and put it in the car, enlarged the trans shifter hole with the plasma, man it made quick work of that!!! I also have great clearance of the steering link in the rear gap on the oil pan, that truck pan worked beautifully!!

Tomorrow I'll work on the motor mounts and making sure I have the motor square, I think I can get them done tomorrow. I was hoping I could get them done tonight, but that didn't happen, everything else took time, but it's all good.

Thanks!!! Yeap, I have all the EFI, complete set up. Most of the wiring is done or figured out at least. I got it all from a good friend up here, he's been helping me out as he can. I can't wait to get this thing on the road!! I have a lot of work to do but it's fun and it's low budget too.....so no stress on trying to spend a small fortune on a part. Just getting it done!!

So i finally got the mounts done and the motor is in there, I'll work on the tranny mount tomorrow, it's going to be much easier than the motor mounts. I think I made it harder on myself but I wanted to try something a little different. My friend gave me these mounts, they are pretty hard rubber mounts, so I drilled them out, much like you would do the TC poly bushings to give them some flex, well, I don't think they have that much flex, we will see once I start up the motor. Here's some pics of the progress...

Here's how I drilled them, maybe I should have used a little bigger bit....

If they're rubber, they'll probably work really well like that. If they're poly, you might want to go back with a bigger drill.

I did mounts like that in my 73 Celica for the 4AGE swap. Started with Poli TOOOO Hard moved to Rubber and it was a lot better but not perfect.

I like the look of the old Corona.

22R should be a smoother engine than the OE powerplant.

Yea, I think it will be fine, it's not gonna be a race car of nothing....just cruise around town kinda car. I need to find two more of those white wall tires, the same size. There were two at the junk yard but they were too worn. I want to have it running by the weeks end. we will see.

I got kinda busy and haven't been able to update this. I cut and lengthened the drive shaft the other day, I know, it sounds sketchy, but I did sleeve it and then weld it up, I'll take it and get it balanced, I already called the shop and the guy said he'd tell me if it was ok or not. I also got the radiator top mounts welded in, just need to make two tabs for the bottom pins to sit in. I'll try to get to that in the morning.
