Gravity: it's not just a good idea, it's the law!!
degree in your cam
it's been said many times but i have to say it again, if you don't degree in you cam you are asking for trouble.
when i installed my Colt Cam C.543 'striaght up', it was advanced 6.5 degrees! when i went to retard it using the positions on the factory cam wheel, it went forward another 6 degrees!! unreal. i put on another chain wheel from an L16 i had and P2 yielded the same, 6 degrees up, when i put it to P1 it went to 1/2 degree retarded. this is where it is now. but had i just put it in, the car would not have ran very well.
lots of thanks to Andy and Tracy at Specialty.

almost running
the motor is in, everything is ready to go, the rad doesn't fit. I call the guy i got the car from for the first time since i got it and asked him if he gave me the correct radiator, because the lower rad hose outlet hits the alternator on the one i have. turn out he never ran an alternator. oh well, there goes more money i didn't have.
