This was fascinating! We have a babysitter who is in the Formula SAE program at Columbia, and I often chat about the car's development with her.
Can't wait to bring this up next time she's around.
Now, how to bring a variable inlet manifold to the L series..?!

Show her your L-series and ask her what she thinks of a variable length intake for it. Remember to tell her your idle speed as well as your max rpm limit too. Keep in mind they are spinning 600cc bike motors up to high rpm with a common inlet restriction...
