...all these years, you've been using a pencil holder as a catch can, and you didn't even know it!

Boning up for my 3G/4G welding test. I haven't done out of position stick in about 25 years, but it's slowly coming back.

man! I haven't checked this thread in a while! Lots of cool stuff going on here. How did they bend that stair case steel?? That must be one hell of a roller to handle that material.

Julian, looks like you got it going good on alum. I guess I need to practice up too!! That pencil holder looks nice!

For whatever reason, I'm much happier welding aluminum. Excited enough to finish up a 510 aluminum gas tank I've had "in progress" for 7 years.

I'm pretty sure that the desert truck/buggy industry is the pinnacle of tube chassis fabrication. Truly beautiful fabrication.

Here is another thread that will make you feel like a shit welder. John Marcella has to be one of the best AL welders on the planet.

John Marcella is the poster-child for Miller's new Dynasty 350DX machines... ...which is good for us because we get a few videos of him explaining some of what goes on in his mind...

Tested out the extreme low end on my new welder (Miller Syncrowave 350) on some razor blades. This was the first time I had tried this. It's a fun challenge. Machine was set at 10 amps and I wasn't quite using all of it.

What were all of your other settings? initial arc? I know I can turn mine down but havent tried, I think I have to access the more hidden menus to do that. I have heard that's how people weld aluminum cans together.....I want to try....
