On the Road - Road Atlanta

Post by rnorrish »

Anyone here the going to Petit Le Mans this weekend?
I'll be here for the rest of the week. Supposed to be site seeing in Atlanta Tuesday, any suggestions?
After that I'll be at the track, shooting pictures are turn marshaling at T10.

where is it? we have a bit more time on Sunday to kill before flying out. though I'm voting for the Waffle House! they're everywhere - the must be good!

be sure ti watch the race everyone it'll be a great one! qualifying times for the Pugs and Audi's cars are within .5s!
watch it here: www.americanlemans.com/live in Canada, ESPN3 in the USA

The Varsity: http://www.thevarsity.com/locations.php ... store_id=9

Coke Museum: http://www.worldofcoca-cola.com/directionsparking.htm

Waffle House is probably crap.....we used to call it the Awful house....they are usually only good at about 2 or 3 am, after partying all night!! You gotta eat at the Varsity, it's one of the oldest fast food places in atlanta, really cool to check it out. there's a fast line to the right of the counter, if you get in this line you need to be ready to rock with your order or they will get mad and might yell at you!! hahaha....but most people know this and it's not a problem. The food is really good and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Great pics Richard. Looking at the size of the field and the number of different manufacturers, sports car racing looks to be making a comeback.

thanks guys!

most of these were shot with my Canon 7D and a 70-200 F4.

I really do hope ALMS is on the up swing. This event was record event this year, with 130,000+ people over the 3-4 days and had too many car entered for the grid (53 max.)
the biggest reason for the exceptional car count is that it is part of a Intercontinental Cup, which tentatively, it isn't next year.
Currently the only stop next year in the US will be Sebring...
