Any Tonka Collectors ?

Post by Robb »

Here's my vintage 1970 Tonka 2585 Hydraulic Dump Truck I won off ebay.
Very desireable Tonka toy. You dont see many left in good shape with box. This one was barely played with, hence the condition. There are no significant dents or dings or rust. It was obviously either well-loved or significantly neglected. The 2585 also came in red. Made in U.S.A. Pressed Steel.

If you don't scoop some dirt with that loader and put it in the bed of the dump truck and then tip the bed, I'm going to haunt you.

I was shopping for some of the old Tonkas I had when I was a kid for my son and was having trouble finding some till I ran across a 96 year old guy who collected them and would only sell the whole collection at once.

So now I have these....

Sure. Send me your email and I will take some pictures of the ones I have so you can choose which one you want. I also have a few fire trucks that are not in the picture if you're interested.

Awesome! Those really bring back some memories. I'd love to find some gently used ones for my son someday.

Yup METAL Tonkas are super cool, I am lucky to have ours still from when we were kids, (for better or wors)e they have never been outside so rust free!

One is an orange grader with a huge side blade...no idea the rarity, they are all headed for the next generation when my kids are done with them!

This was given to me 42yrs ago as a gag gift when i was looking for a jeep.
One of my girls colored the top with a magic marker, at one time I thought about cleaning it off but now it has such huge sentimental value I'm glad i didn't.
