Act your age. Wait no... Post your age
Act your age. Wait no... Post your age
My dad and I were having a bit of a debate this morning. We always have this debate.
510 vs. 240z.
He has had plenty of both but hasn't had a dime since the mid-late 80's and has 3 240z's now. He keeps telling me I will get over the 510 love and want to move to the Z but I say no way!!! Sure I want a Z but I think the 510 is 10x's cooler in every way.
Please just respond to this thread and post your age. I told him the younger generation (<35) seems to be more fond of the dimes over the Z's. I think the fact that Target carries a 510 matchbox car pretty much takes care of my argument but I am curious now.
Please post your age
Brandon
I am 30 btw.

There have been several threads on the matchbox cars. They have about 30 of them at the local Target. The blue one. SOme have found the jada version of my car at Target. Orange with the black hood. I still haven't seen one in the store but I did get one on eBay. Qwik510 has two of them.

I've had countless dimes and other datto's including my 59 but I've never really wanted a Z car, they are cool and all.... If I did get one it would get an SR for sure!!!!!!!

21, my buddy who is a year younger than me has a Z. I think they are both awesome cars but yeah the 510 is where its at. There is a guy locally who inspired me to get into 510s who is in his late 60s and has been racing 510s in SCCA since the car was basically released he says.

I am 47. I had Z cars before I ever had a 510. In the early 80's I was really into Z cars. I went through a few of them. Then I got into Porsches. I had a 911,912, a few 914s and even a 930 turbo. My last Porsche was a 74 914 2.0 and I loved that car. It handled so well. I used to autocross it. One day, this little boxy Datsun kicked my butt at an autocross and I went up to the guy and talked to him. It was a nicely prepared 510. I fell in love with it and the search began. It has been a 510 love affair ever since.
The Z cars are sweet and I liked them so much, I bought another one in 2003 but I have always had at least one 510 since 1987 and I hope I will always have one. My wife says that she will not buy me a coffin, one of my 510s will do that job.
510s Forever!
