Nissan Comp. Head Gasket

Post by Colbino »

Gents,
I went to put the head back on my L20b with the new motorsport 88.5mm gasket only to notice that the rear triangle shaped cooling hole is not puched out on the gasket. Should I punch it out or leave the gasket as is? Also, with the ARP head stud kit do I torque to 65lbs as per 280zx bolts or could/should/would I torque it more?

Thank you!

If the block passage matches the head passage then yes, cut the gasket. As for torque specs, torque them to the ARP recommendation with the appropriate thread lube..

Yes, the head matches. Thanks!
I didn't even get far enough to see if the ARP came with it's own specs. I'll look into that. Thanks, again.

I recently bought the ARP head stud kit, and on the back of the bock (which I haven't even opened yet) are the torque specs. Good thing I have them at work, but excuse the scan, as the quality isn't very good.

Mine were PN 202-4201
