butters68 build

Post by tycot1 »

im posting a few pics for butters68. we are doing a little body work for butters right now. we started about a month ago. the car was posted on craigslist out in surrey for a while and butters went out and bought it. turns out it was a good buy with minimal issues. the car still got around 75 hours metal work but that included replacing the rear tail light panel and the rear bumper panel. we had to make the panel fit 68 lights as the panel was 69 and up. we have stripped the entire car, engine bay, back sides of all panels, and sandblasted the wells and problem areas. this car should look pretty good as we havent let anything go.

I'm impressed that you closed up the holes in that panel to make the original small '68 lights work.
Good on you for getting this done, and to Batters to have it done! :D

butters is a past 510 owner and is good friends with some body guys, so he is well educated with what it takes to properly go through a 510. he is making lots of good decisions. it didnt take much convincing to keep this under 4900 production # car in stock exterior trim. "deluxe" this is going to be a nice 68.

very nice work, it takes so much time to do good metal work. most people dont take the time to do it right, or spend the money. keep us posted.
