Making Pictures smaller

Post by Byron510 »

Just thought I'd re-post this under it's own topic, as it seems to have come up quite a bit over the last few months.

XP/2000/98 OS - The easiest way to make your photos smaller - one touch - download this:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... ySetup.exe

After your download and run this upgrade, your right click over a photo will give you a resize option - quick, simple and proven.

Vista OS - There is also a similar tool not made by MS, but works great for Vista users that I downloaded on my wifes laptop - works exactly the same:

http://www.vso-software.fr/products/ima ... esizer.php

That should help more easily post correct size photos.

Byron I've had that re sizer for years. All I remember was someone on the Realm posting it and I copied it and wow so easy to use. If it was you before... thank you.

Hoenstly it was Spencer that put me onto this in 2003 when I started the Bronze resto thread album , (that unfortunately got lost), but there was a need to post it up because so many people were asking about picture sizes.
I also think it's a great tool. It's so good that guys built their own marco program for Vista users - it's not MS, but I can't figure out why not; it is a handy tool. I installed this "aftermarket" Vista tool on my wifes lap top - works just as good.

Not bagging on this site, but I am curious as to why this is the only site that doesn't automatically scale down the picture or show the entire picture regardless of the size? Seems like a pain to have to scale down the pictures when uploading to the hosting site just to make sure they fit on here.

Lots of posts over the years on this, but I've never seen an answer. Photopost gives perfect Realm-sized preview images.

I got it to work, but not on the "custom" theme which everyone sees when they visit the website. As that is quite dated now, I might need to work on upgrading the theme to a new standard one, and then put some "the510realm" elements back into it.
