2011 02 16 Outage

Post by 5teN »

The website was using the MySQL database heavily and going over the alloted resources. The host has replaced the MySQL partition with SSD drives which should boost the performance of the databases.

Looks like they have completed this! Hopefully the site runs faster and we don't get that problem again.

Site does have the snap to it this morning!

The ban-hammer is noticeably quicker today. wham, wham, wham. It is silky smooth, and responsive.

Looks like the server's V-TEC kicked in, yo.

I had a weird problem last night, where it said I exceeded my log in attempts, and I had to do the letter code thing....

I tried to login earlier this morning (7:15ish MST) and it brought me to a "new website placeholder page" or something similar to that effect.
Should have taken a screen capture of it but decided I best get to work ontime instead. :lol

Yes... the site was down for a little bit this morning. I noticed it pretty early like 7am texas time and the webhost was able to get it sorted out pretty quick.

I think Spencer needs to give us his life itinarary, as then we can phone him right away, day or night, when this sort of stuff happens. My coffee was ruined this morning, and I lost my posts from yesterday...what is this world coming to?

i noticed the missing posts this am too.
it looks like it reset to yesterday am or so, likely the last backup...

edit: it looks like Sunday may be gone too.
the most regularly updated post is the "what did you do..."
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12993&start=690
and it's back to Friday!
it must be my fault, i posted on there that I had worked on my wagon.

Tried logging in again just now. Got this message again and managed a screen cap this time.
Refreshed my browser and the510realm loaded up normally. Must have just needed to clear the cache.

Anyways at least you can see what I saw this morning... if it helps with anything.

I had the same problem, had to delete my short cut in FireFox, reload the page, and then do a new save in favorites. Then reset my pass word.
