Awesome color!

I can finally post in this thread!

I disassembled the car in April and left on only the hood, trunk, doors, front struts and steering box (so the front wheels turned together rolling on the truck) and rear cross member.

When I dropped off the car the last week of April, and every single week since, the body shop owner promised 'we'll have it done and you can pick it up next week'. Three and a half months later...

The car was baking soda blasted top and bottom,
(minimal) rust was cut out and repaired
body work was done to make it really straight
suspension and some other pieces were blasted and painted a satin black
engine compartment was sprayed with metal etch
on a rotisserie, the top and bottom of the shell were epoxy primered
the full bottom and engine compartment were painted with single stage paint the same color that the
top was painted (base/clear), in the original color blue #645, wet sanded and buffed.

I like how the color changes in and out of the sun. Now comes the hard part, trying to find replacements for all the worn out rubber and other pieces that I took off. I'll start a build thread when I have a little more progress.

Thanks. I'm extremely happy with the job that was done by the guys in the shop and I'm glad they didn't rush it - I told them not to rush from the start. It was just the constant over-promising by the shop owner that was increasingly frustrating since I was trying to plan (and re-plan, and re-plan) in advance which day I could take off work to pick it up and coordinate when I could borrow a trailer from a friend of a friend.
