Wow, like they say there is nothing new under the sun!

I have a question for you Michael, (or whomever!)

I had made a similar opening to gather air for my intercooler which will be positioned just about where you air intake is in the photo. (and another one just above it right under the bumper)

What are your (obviously expert) thoughts on extracting the air (after being warmed up in the intercooler) into the wheel well using the perforated liner from a '95 240sx as in the second photo?

I hate to butt in like this, but it is such an interesting subject, I couldn't resist!

Michael,

I didn’t know you’d previously done this (or anyone else for that matter), but yes that is what I had in mind, but I don’t think I’ll be cutting a hole in the valence – there’ll be enough air in the fender well, and I’ll leave the air ramming to the turbocharger! :D

The Coupe is resting again until I finish the wife's 1500 Fairlady Roadster project. This is a full frame-off, every nut and bolt replaced, epic project (which is getting close to being done!)

I have heavily documented the project and have a build thread here: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/v ... =7&t=15926

I am still collecting parts for the Coupe... It is warm, safe, and dry until then...

One last hurrah with all your NOS parts?

No, most of the NOS stuff will go on when it finally gets painted-- no reason to get out the good stuff until we are really ready...

Looking at the car last night, it is not the sweetest example by any means-- it is going to need a lot of panel replacement at some point, thankfully I have all of them.

Right now the goal is to get it running and driving again, and sort it out. Then I will take it apart for paint, inside and out.

11+ years off the road is too long.

I pulled the engine and trans out of the car last weekend and put it up on the stand.... I have had this engine for 10+ years now, but figured that I should probably do a good inspection (and clean up) on it before it goes back into the car.

I pulled the upper and lower oil pans off and did a crank and rod bearing inspection and everything looks great. I am going to put a new oil and water pump on the engine as well as a new stock S15 turbo (the one on the engine appeared to have blown seals). Those parts are on order with Nissan and I should have them here next week.

I have the next few days off, so I will be busy out in the shop getting a load of hardware ready to go out for plating, and getting the engine cleaned up, and little things like getting the correct senders (for the SSS instrument cluster) installed, etc.

Then it will be on to the engine compartment to build brake lines, etc...
