Hope God doesn't mind, I moved his mountains down a bit in the background. I love this shot so much I took the trash can out too. Anything for art right.

Not mind...that is what needed to be done. I have the original that I should crop down anyhow. I actually printed that out in my own dark room, back in the mid 70's. taken in the Black Tusk parking lot.

Nice print Man! Mine was the last generation of photography students to learned wet printing at my art school. After I graduated everyone jumped on the digital bandwagon. Silver printing is an art in and of itself. I was into some really esoteric stuff in the darkroom. I had an Italian Dust M700 with cold light apo-chromatic condenser head and enlarging lenses. I was using benzotriazole in my D76 and heating it to 80 degrees for shadow detail, then did a second developer bath in HC110 for highlight detail. Using a selenium toner on the printt really made the silver pop. You KNow, after working with all those chemicals it's a miracle my kids didn't have webbed fingers and three heads .bertvorgon wrote:Not mind...that is what needed to be done. Hey Ron, that is too cool! Thread hijack...
As my dad was a photographer, specially during the war, I grew up doing black and white, I still have all my dark room equipment. My kids took the photography class in school, and had a HUGE advantage as they lived photography with me, and of course had their own darkroom at home. this all had led my son to take up photo journalism as a career, which has given him some great adventures to date. As much as he has had to jump into the digital world, he still shoots film. My old Pentax can hold a candle to most of today's cameras.
I actually made some money from my photography on occasion. It is a dying art, "dodging", "masking", etc, now all done in the digital format, on/in some computer program.
I think I kept Kodak going for years on the amount of D76 I used, and the lab guys I worked with for years wondered why their acetic acid was always dwindling.
I don't know how this picture will look on other monitors, but, I did a slight sepia tone to it. This I just scanned in a while ago, as my son and I revisited this Valley in September. This picture taken in 1970, it's my brother.
