Wow. 17 years and you have painted the engine bay and front clip?....that's slow even for REALM standards!
Just kidding, of course. Looks like a nice project, and probably a pretty rare bird down in FLA.

it sat in my backyard up in new york for almost 13 years after it was painted gray.. i moved to florida when i was 10 but the car was still in new york, because it was my grandpas.. he moved down to florida and it sat in my backyard again for about 3 years.. all i new about the car when i was younger was that it was badass, but now i was a little more into cars and knew a little more about it.. i asked my grandpa about it and he told me he had been saving it for me so in about 2007 we uncovered it for the first time

when we uncovered it we thought there would be more rust but here is the only rust we found and i think its becauase my grandpa left a piece or carpet on the hood.. and here in florida when it rained, the carpet got soaked and all the water just sat on top of the hood

No rust underneath though

Interesting choice of headliner :o

its a pretty rare car on the east coast period especially in the condition that it is in, just my opinion.. and yea when we uncovered it we hoped for the best but never really thought it would be in as good of a condition as it was :D

Here are a couple of pics after it got painted. Everything remained stock except for a wink mirror for the interior, baby turbo mirrors and euro turn signal for the exterior

Most of the paint remained original from the 90s minus the hood. Here are some more pictures

Nice. Did you take gramps for a ride yet?

So the car was my first and it lasted me a while before the motor had to be rebuilt. The accelerator cable came loose one night on my way home from from a car meet. My dad was with me and at first we didnt know what was wrong with it so long story short the car wahttps://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/35987_1240229424570_3425174_n.jpgs turned on and it was reving high rpms before we could turn the car off. Well i think that may have been the reason to what happened next because a few months later the motor started knocking and it only got louder. the car went into the shop and i rebuilt the motor. this was what went wrong

I have some videos but im not sure how to load them here or if even can but i have a youtube account that has a few vids on there now, my username is chinito107. None of the videos are since the last rebuild but i will upload them soon.

I was also lucky to find a 280zx 5spd when i went with my uncle to tune his dime. the guy sold me the car for 300 it had alot of rust bust i just wanted it for the brakes, transmission and other msc. parts and those turned out to be good and working parts. So i have upgraded the front struts and brakes to 280zx. i also have the rear disc setup, differential and transmission from the 280. i have added a simple 4 spkr and headunit music system. The springs were also cut so it is a bit lowered. i will take pictures up to date tomorrow morning.

ANYBODY ON THE EAST COAST OR FLORIDA?
