It does all matter in the world of balance. Harmonics are a bad thing. The pulley complete should be mounted to the crankshaft when the balancing procedure is done.
Great job on the mill Scott. I'll bet you had a sore arm after all that rotary table and dividing head cranking! I've got a little 4" chuck that I mount on the rotary table at work, also to keep the height down. But that mill has about 20" to work with. You do what you can, and your work looks great.
Aluminum is a wonderful material isn't it.

Cheers Byron! Yeah my forearm looks like popeye from all that turning! ha! I was only doing .050" depth cuts with an .500" end mill at slow feed rates!
Aluminum is like butter compared to some 4130 tubing I was cutting for my bicycle fab stuff!
Decided to scrap the tubular rear set up and go with a full IRS double wishbone rear. I have a plan, a welder, a new platen table, and some starting material
Should start sticking things together in a few weeks!
Started on the lower control arms of my double wishbone IRS.
I had some 1-3/8" Hex stock that I used as camber/toe adjusters turned down and threaded to accept my 1/2" rod ends on the inners and 5/8" on the outers.
They fit inside the sleeve next to it in the pic.
Assembled, just need to get some jam nuts to hold things tight. Miters came out super nice, they hold water!
After I build the upper and lower arms I will start on the cradle thats gonna hold the R180 LS out of a late model STI.
Hey Cmac. No news on the IRS rear besides my design tweaks, but great news is Im so close to closing on my own shop, I dont want to jinx myself so I will leave it at that.

Nope, gonna solve all the issues back there. This is going to be a total independant rear, meaning upper and lower control arms, none of the stock stuff or location points will be used.
