Spare tire well jack storage

Post by Bike papa »

I was wondering if someone could post a pic showing how the tire jack is stored in the spare tire well? I'm assuming that it fits on the stamped plate next to the spare but I have no idea how it is secured.

I also have the crank handle and rod (actually two rods that are different lengths) for a wagon that i am thinking about selling if anyone is interested

Thanks ,

IIRC the jack is spread open a bit to secure the two wheel chocks in there as well.

Yes - you open the jack and it will hold itself in there nicely….

The wheel chocks sit in the metal part to the left of the spare and the jack bottom sits sideways against the chock and the groove in the top of the jack locks into the metal lip on the other side. Then tighten the jack enough to secure it. I can get you a picture later if no one else does.

Also, PM sent.

Here are some pictures I just took of the Pete Brock car's jack storage..

Jack handle storage on the tail light panel

Wheel chock, jack and lug wrench storage next to spare tire.

As you can see, there is a specific place for each part.

I wonder if the new repop tail light panels include the clips for the jack handle storage?

I have had some dimes where they PO did not place the jack bottom against the lug wrench but above it. I have found that the lug wrench will rattle if not secure and I have had no issues with it coming loose mounted this way. My first 510, which I got in 87 with 32k from a little old lady, had it stored this way and I don't think it had ever been out of the car.
