510 Exhaust update; Sorry to all the guys that wanted better detail pics of the exhaust. The wifey gave birth to our second son early, so my trip down to Cali. was pushed back a few weeks. I'll try to get the requested pics the next time I'm down there.

Here's the staggered set: 15x8 et? & 15x8.5 et-6
The wheels are in really good condition; one portion of a lip may need to be rebuilt, but other than that and the nasty old runny paint job many, many years ago, they're good. Cannot wait to restore them back to their glory days.

After one application: remover, scrapped, scrubbed and washed.
May just have them glass blasted, but need to get a quote for before I'll decide.
The entire rim has overspray all over it. Hard to imagine how careless someone could be with such great rims. But, when they're prevalent in Japan, I suppose it makes sense.

This is after a few treatments of stripper. Tried Aircraft and Jasco. They both worked alright. With the 510 I used some other kind years ago which worked a hella lot better, but I couldn't find it any longer; probably has to do with constantly stricter chemical regulations.

The old and new valves differed. I'm not even sure if the old style is true Wat. or aftermarket. Regardless, what's odd is that you can plainly see that the old style (on the right) has a wider stem at the base and a much wider rubber seal. Even with these differences the new valve seal fit into the valve hole nicely. Kind of skeptical about this. I see that the new seals inner lip equates to the old stem base, but there is such a difference between the size that I'm concerned there may be leakage. Anyone dealt with this before?

I wonder if the Bluebird mounting locations were supposed to differ between drive/passenger side, too? I don't recall them being "off" when I mounted mine though. Anyway, good info. here. Thank you OG poster! Now, are all the S30 fender mirrors I've seen doing this or mounting them identically per side??? Crap. Dilema.

Ok. A minor 510 update: Was able to score this vintage WA license plate, which I think you'll all get a kick out of.

Side Note: In Cali. getting an older plate would not have been an easy to assign to my 510. In WA they have license plate stores (that's what they call them and mine was connected to a damn mall!) which are like the DMV but without lines, ever, and only deal with plates and registration. It's pretty erie how easy it was to assign this old plate and to deal with anything else licensing/registration based. Other states need to borrow a page from the WA playbook! Another perk is the rolling 25 y/o smog exemption law they have here. Bless you, Washington. Bless you!

You know, I forget sometimes how good the design on the door handles really is.

Just strictly from a form point of view, they are really elegant looking.
