What's the real quality difference in your eyes?

If you have to space this one out and you have to space the Champion out to make either bolt up, then...?

hmm besides the koyo being shinier, the drain cock on the koyo rad is at the bottom of the tank not the middle. it has a provision for a thermo switch in the top tank.with the top tank being squared off rather than tapered allows for greater capacity. the welds are straighter and more consistent throughout. the core is evenly spaced between the tanks and appears to be designed from the start to be that size. were as the ebay rad looks like it was once a larger core that was cut down to meet the dimensions.

I wonder if the koyo has a slightly different bottom outlet (or if it mounts closer to the front support) as the bay (champion) radiator was essentially interfering with the bottom hose and the alt. pulley. Mine works, but its amazingly tight.

There have been a few people that had those champion radiator crack.. or fail. Even after getting a replacement, it would fail.

The koyo is a bit more. I got mine for about 250 shipped. It fit just fine with the stock alt, and an IR alt. No regrets. Wouldn't recommend the eBay radiator.

I wonder if the cracking issue is dependent on how you mount it. What are the failure modes?

Yes, you shouldn't have to monkey with the mounting, but with the Champion at least, you do. But, if you do, are there still failures? I mounted mine with rubber sway bar end link bushings, and only tightened three of the four mounting bolts to allow it to expand as necessary.

If it were mounted rigidly to the core support, I could see that being a problem, especially as you'd be flexing the mounting points on both sides since the bracket doesn't mount flush.

They are mounted the same way as stock. Right to the core support with no insulators. The the welds on the tank I believe.

On either the ebay or the Koyo you have to space it out about 6mm to clear the lip on the core support.

Wow that's cheap, there is one in the garage with my Coupe somewhere. Maybe they're worth more over here or RHD. Nice RX3 in the background too.

Saw that on BaT a few days ago - I'll fetch over 100K I'm sure. I have to admit, it's pretty original. And it's been a while since I've seen one at stock ride height!

An actual S20 KPG? Yeah, way over $100K. This one hit $190K in August:
