with the oil being so black I can only assume its baked. I wasn't going to spend the time cleaning for a proper inspection. I hear ya about short gears getting hot. the m37 with its 5.83s cooks seals when introduced to rpms over 3400 for any length of time.

I said months ago that 6inches needed to come off the road by the end of summer for much needed love. well its September 1st and today as the woman was running errands, just as shes about to cross the iron workers bridge, the last remaining exhaust hanger gave out and the tail pipe and muffler hit the road. after securing the exhaust to the bumper with some rope she headed on her way. then the carb started to act up and it was heal toe all the way home. .......guess I know what im doing tonight after I give out a foot rub. :oops:

exhaust mostly welded, changed out a bloated coil and fixed the carb. the fuel reg adjusted it's self and was intermittently bypassing the needle and seal flooding out the carb. reset the the reg and lapped the seat.

just before Christmas I picked up two 1984 720 4x4s. it took me a night a piece to strip the z24s and FS5W71B. then a week to scrub it all down.

In reviewing the videos above, your car needs two things to accomplish those tasks better;

- More suspension travel

- LSD in the rear with lower gears

Just my two cents worth....

i've procured some 200sx struts with bigger brakes (thank the monkey). I dont know if I will get more travel but I will get more clearance and stopping power. the gif above smacking the trunk pan was with dodge d50 fronts in the rear. Im now running nissan comp rally springs. im also running small poly bumps in the rear.... how would one increase the travel? raising the rear to taxi levels could lead to problems as you know.

im not ready to scrap the Datsaru loyal so no 411 lsd for me ....I might take a r180 with 411s from the 720, better gears but still one wheel action.

maybe I need a turbo......then I can floor through anything
