List updated Ron and loungin112, hopefully Byron sees this and updates the original post. Would be kinda fun to keep going and see how many we can get on here with the numbers.

Hi Bert,

Agreed, there do appear to be discrepancies in VINs vs. dates.

Having worked at a Fiat & Ferrari dealership back in the old days (before Fiat was banned from US sales) I have one possible observation; The VINs for delivery into each market are sequential but do not match build dates/VINs from other markets. i.e. USA had a different series than Canadian/Mexican/European originally delivered vehicles.
Vehicles may have the same build month/year but because they were originally delivered into different markets, they had different safety & equipment requirements and thus different VIN series. Don't know if this is true for Datsun/Nissan but it's one possible explanation.

I've attached a picture of my VIN plate, had a heck of a time getting my phone camera to focus on it, this one of about 20 I just took, various reflection/shadow and photo anomalies in most of them. This is the clearest one.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi James!

Awesome, I've never actually seen another 510 with my factor color #123, this is great!

Can't remember what the colour code is for mine but they are slightly different shades.
