Come one come all Datsun enthusiasts. I'll have burgers and pop, maybe a few bags of chips. Be great to have you over.

510 Day 2017
Happy 510 Day everyone.
And for those in the Lower Mainland who can make it out tonight in Maple Ridge, I'm really looking forward to having you. Festivities begin at 5:10 of course and run until eveyone goes home.

Just Datsun's and Datsun Enthusiasts
Weather is going to hold out for us, looks good.
I have 48 burgers, buns, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce, a couple flats of pop and a few bags of chips and treats. If you'd like something specific, maybe bring it on out with you but I have the basics covered.
Bringing a chair probably wouldn't hurt. I have about a dozen, and room for about 10 around the camp fire (bring your own marshmallows - I have a few sticks!) Otherwise we'll be spread out through the yard, in the shop and likely most of us out on the street bringing traffic to a halt! Should be fun.

Ok, here's the deal...I like my burger medium well, and, as we cannot drink alcohol, I like 1/3 ginger ale mixed with 1/3 apple and 1/3 orange juice. I like a cushion on my lawn chair, facing the sun...do you have slippers....?

May have to skip today's event. Several really late nights in a row. Absolutely bagged.

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge
What a great evening, thanks to all that came. We had 510's, roadsters, and a 280ZX to round out the Datsun's on the street (that I saw). Most of the burgers disappeared. But most of all we had some plain good socializing going on - and that's the key. Saw a couple of new faces which is great, and we were reunited with some old friends as well. Then most of the ballance of the 30 or so people that dropped by this evening were right in the middle. Awesome, this is what it's about as we head into the driving season.
The weather looked as if it was going to turn on us, turns out a few spots of rain fell and then the evening brightened up. Food was ate, conversations grew between groups out in the front yard, back on the deck and out in Datsun Central (the garage).
The first group of cars, including a pair of roadsters and a 510, showed up just past 4:30 to kick it all off. By 5:10, the driveway and lawn were full and cars started parking on the street. As various peoples schedule allowed on a week night, many more came and went. Most had a burger and everyone socialized. The last 3 guys left as a group at 12:30 am - a successful event for sure.
I have a favour to ask, as I was cooking and socializing I made the classic organizer mistake and didn't take photos. If you guys attending can post some photos, that would be awesome.
Great night, thanks to all that came out this evening to enjoy 510 Day 2017 in Maple Ridge.

Sorry I missed it. But I don't think I could have stayed awake. Laid down at around 4:00 PM and woke up after 7:00 PM . Felt much better after that. Guess we'll just have to meet up on the road some more. Cheers all

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge
Morning World!
The rain God left me alone yesterday, I drove home and then over to Byron's and back to the plant with only some virga lightly dusting the windshield.
My brake pads are bedding in nicely and it appears I made a good choice so far, feel is good and most importantly, they are lineal. The jury is still out on actual first cold stop as they do need to still match to the rotors.
Traffic was very heavy heading north on 176th as it is a major corridor. I ended up following a darn commercial vehicle inspection officer all the way to Golden ears bridge. I just did not trust that they might want to do a vehicle inspection as they can pull you over.
Great group at Byron's of course and nice to see a few people from the beginning hey days of all of us racing together in the early 90's, 25 years ago..WOW!!!
Thanks for the food Byron, Nice that you have us all there.
Drive back was nice, cool, no rain, no traffic, twilight. That LARGE alternator pulley sure does not put out at idle with the lights on but I had no issues. A few police lurking about, one was a ghost White FORD sedan, you could sneak up on that one, have to watch out.

few more.
Jamie found the same complaint as I did about the Toyo's, specially on the rear, as has Jeff ( Icehouse).
