Re: Back to 510Land
Trying to post more pictures but no success , a puzzle since the above picture was taken with the same devise on the same day , anyway this 72 was found by David qwik510 here locally and within hrs of its discovery and one picture it was in my possession . It is a running car with original paint , the mill is an L20B with A87 close chamber head , mild cam ,Kirck header , 32/36 Weber on Offenhauser manifold . It rides on shortened front 83 200SX struts with 280ZX adj Konis , 10'' rotors with Toyota 4 piston calipers ,front comp sway bar with bushing and links , short springs front and rear , 200 SX rear disc brakes , adjustable rear cross member ,rear Konis , Interpart rear sway bar with ST bushings and links . It has a 5 dog leg tranny . Has a factory tach and 13x5.5 Libres .
The interior is all original with a perfect no crack dash , clean doors cards with no holes , front and back seats are like a time capsule and the drivers side will be refoam and kept and it has a rool bar/.
Car has no bumpers but a set has been ordered , that ugly rear tail pipe has been removed , my mustard DIME will be a true " enjoy the ride " toy .
So here super excited with my new to me 2 door 1972 Datsun 510

Re: Back to 510Land
The modification list is something right out of the 80's, your right in saying that it's a time capsule. Great that the car survived to date and that it's now in good hands. Thanks for posting the photos.
Personally I think it'll look much better with bumpers installed.
Has it been sitting long? Do you have a list of things to go over before driving it this year?
Keep us posted and welcome back

Re: Back to 510Land
The car needed very minimal sorting in order for to be enjoyed , adjusted the bolt nuts on the header , installed a new muffler with dual tips , the carb needed a bit of adjustment , recently the PO did change the gas tank and flushed the lines , I also did an oil/filter service plus fresh tranny and diff fluids , brakes are fine , the tires will be replaced next week , no bumpers yet they are on the way , It also was treated to a full wash with a bit of quick wax, so my 510 will be at the Burtonsville MD cars and coffee meet this Sunday .
