Speed Sensor (VSS) for 4 Speed Transmission

Post by ohenry »

I'm hoping someone might know if there is a speed sensor (VSS) I can use for on a 510 4-speed transmission. I recently bought a Speedhut electronic speedometer and was under the impression a 240sx speed sensor would work but it doesn't seem like it will.

Any idea on what I can do to get the speedometer working?

Thanks in advance

I'd try one of these Marlin Crawler speedo adapters
https://www.marlincrawler.com/transfer- ... sensor-mci

Toyota and Nissan both use M22x1.5 and my Celica Supra speedo cable end looks exactly like my Datsun one so assuming the pulse outputs are compatible you should be fine.
The IDx 10 concept is based on the 510 in the same way that the urinating I was doing last night was based on a 30 yr old single-malt scotch.

That Martin crawler thing is a fantastic solution for more than just speedo drive. EMS speed input, cruise control etc etc etc.. I'm gettin' one! $49?? Cheeeepppp

The Speedhut GPS solution is the best way to solve ohenny's problem assuming the old one is returnable of course.

Thanks for the replies!

Sadly I'm past the return period. I'll give the Marlin Crawler a shot and hopefully things work out.

what about some gps unit that cost $89 on ebay with built in sensor, just slam into dash and your checking your speed against the Law Enforcement thugs!
