New owner 1968 4 door sedan

Post by fliptrip »

Hi All

New owner of a four door 1968 sedan in NZ.
Condition is best summed up by "good from far but far from good".

Plans are to sort some of the items not right or missing with it so will certainly need fellow members help.

Plan is to touch up some of the panel and paint then sort the motor and then decide whether to redo the entire panel and paint.

Had a 13bt but has been removed.
Not sure if we'll continue with a 13b or convert to SR.

1600s are getting very hard to find in NZ and the 68 seems a bit unique.
Currently what I can see what I need:
Glovebox box, another interior air vent, heater unit, vertical sliding controls for heater unit (bought, just need the black knobs on the end!), door cards and pull handles, interior light (was it on pillar or central dome?), bonnet pull, center grill badge- Any help with that list would be appreciated.

Previously owned a 72 b110 or 1200 as we call them here in NZ/Aus.

I have a total soft spot for 68’s, I too think they are the most unique of the PL510’s, aside from maybe the coupes.
I have an L13 / Three on the tree 68 that is actually more rare than the coupes here in North America, even though the coupes were n her sold in this market, there are way more coupes than L13 ‘68’s!

Post some photos in a new thread on your car, we’d love to see them.

I also dig the 68's! Well, and coupes, and 1200's. I guess all of them really. Me and my boss Carter I trying to get a 68 4 door from Yahoo japan right now. The Google translate is so fun! The 68 ad was describing the windshield wipers "fighting wipers" so accurate! The guy selling it has 18 bluebirds!!!!

We need more pictures of your car :)

Nice! I find myself in the club of 68 lovers as well. Neat to find all the little differences.
