Re: Five-Hundred and Ten
J-Rod removed the last of the factory sound proofing off the floor.
Installed the right side trunk drop and outer wheelhouse.
Started to fit the right rear quarter
So far everything seems to fit good.

Wow, you guys are doing an amazing amount of work on this restoration. And it’s just awesome that your taking the time to post your play by play steps to let the rest of us vicariously live through it!
Dave at Futofab Will be able to use your car as the poster child for 2/3rds of the panels he sells for a 510 - it’s awesome that we get to just see it all come together like this.
Keep it coming, we are certainly enjoying the build.

Re: Five-Hundred and Ten
Work continues...
Rear Quarters are welded in
Rear licence plate panel prep. Trunk latch and jack handle clips had to be taken off the old panel and welded onto the new panel
Fitting Rear licence plate panel
The trunk gutter on the new panel is quite a bit more substantial than the original.
The area where the tail lights meet the quarter panels was a bit of a challenge.
Got it to fit pretty good in the end. The holes for the licence plate lights also will meet to be drilled in.
We also fit front fenders on. Looks like a 510!
Started stitch welding the engine bay.

Re: Five-Hundred and Ten
Well, Dave and you should both be happy with the new metal. Nice that it is thicker than stock. Gaps look good

Mark,
Thanks for the walk-a-round video. It's always good to see panels going on and a project moving forward.
Good job!

Back at it! After a year and a half!
Front spoiler, lights, grill, and bumper to just t have a look before it goes to the paint shop.
Found an old licence plate same year as the car.

Re: Five-Hundred and Ten
Motor went into the engine shop. I have 2 -L20 B's. I have had them for 30 years. Planning on 250-275 hp.
A 5 speed transmission I have also had for 30 years. Got it out of a 280zx at the junk yard many years ago. That's planning ahead.

Right off the bat make sure they/you tap that oil pressure sender junction for a steel fitting!
