Carburator Jet Box Storage ideas

Post by Byron510 »

OK, I put a little investment into a small pile of precision machined brass that needs to be organized.

I currently have 45 different sizes of main, air, pilot and pump jets for my Mikuni's... but I need a reasonably sized way to organize and store them.

So I thought I'd throw this out there, and good, current ideas for this? As I would not have more than 8 tiny jets in each compartment, I require quite a small, divided case that is easily transported.

I've seen what appears to be tackle boxes used, as they are rugged. But the ones I found have maybe 10-15 compartments, so that isn't quite what I'm after, If there were 60 small compartments that all fit into a small box - maybe even with a handle, I think that would be idea - allowing for a little expansion.

Look forward to your ideas, and photos and links if you have them.

I have used those clear plastic boxes with individual adjustable dividers for everything from carburetor jets to TIG welding supplies. They come in a bunch of different sizes and the compartments can be made to whatever size you want by moving the dividers.

Here's mine, I can't remember where I got the box from, likely a small hardware store.

That's what I need, but all I found were supper cheap versions - with less dividers! I wouldn't mind buying something that will last, and that will be transportable.

Oh - thanks Jeff. I do enjoy my missing cam, inefficient single plane Ole L motor and the lack of a hair dryer. Really, I do.
And I'm fully aware that my beater 6000 lb, 15 year old family SUV can kick my 510's ass in a strait line with it's 4 cams and 380 fl/lbs.....
....But the carbs sound beautiful :-)

Under "Compartmented Boxes" version "N" looks like it could be the one I have, it has the same 36 compartments.
