And now you are about to install JBC crossmember and rack. You have done a ton of work In a short time and its shaping up to be a really nice no- expense-spared car. Interested to see how the turbo install is going.

Thanks for the kind words JasonLee. I had a top mount log style manifold made. But the guy who built screwed up on the waste gate flange and turbo flange. They are a little to warped to use. I have another Mazworx manifold kit to make a new one. But now im thinking of going bottom mount since there's gonna be more room now.

Here's a shot of the engine bay and turbo manifold mocked up before the final welds were done and it warped.

First piece of the puzzle showed up today. Shipped from the UK pretty crazy how fast it got here. Literally less than a week.. I will post up as many pictures as i go through this conversion process.

These things are sweet. Super light compared to the GTX2 I had before.
Just need to get some shorter hardware for the rear ball joint slots.

Parts came in!! Now I have to find the time this week to install as much as I can. These are the last two weeks of my sons baseball so I might actually have a little more time, till he starts his next thing. Gotta keep these kids busy.

So here's the manifold I decided to go with. I went JBC rack and pinion which gave me a few turbo manifold options. I was considering going bottom mount since I have the rack now. But I still have a perfectly good top mount down pipe. I just have to modify it to make it work with this new manifold. I also upgraded my exhaust housing on my GT2871R to a Tial V-band housing. So this works perfectly. The waste gate location will not be the same as in the photo. Jon at future fab has one for 510's which keeps it away from the BMC. This manifold also clears the stock steering box for those who aren't making the JBC conversion.

So I taped off the 25mm section on the column that needs to be cut and removed, before you can install the clamp to secure the JBC steering column in place. I still have to make the slits in the column tube as well. Brake lines needed a little tweaking which I went ahead and did. Only one of them needs a slight bend to make it work. Nothing is rubbing or making contact with the column lock now so i'm happy. Slow progress here..
