Re: Devil in a red dress.
Well yesterday I cut the column tube 25mm. I cut it in small section and kept fitting it till I got right. I still have to make the slice on the tube for the clamp. Spoke to James from JBCW and showed him some photos. Looks like I have to rotate the bottom U-jont 90* and im good to go with this section of the build. I still need to have the spacer cut at the machine shop. Just haven't had the time to drive out to the shop. Gotta clean the metal shavings also and reinstall the brake lines.

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Installed the brake lines. Had to bend one a little so it didn't rub against the clamp. Pretty happy how this install went. I still have the spacers that need to be cut for the LCA's and install outer tie rods. Made some good progress this week so Im pretty happy for once lol. Also pulled out me heater core so I can have it flushed. Pulled it apart and gave it a good cleaning. Need to grab some paint so I can give it a nice paint job as well. Im gonna prep everything so I can make the lines to install the SR to the heater core easy. Seen a lot of different way to do it so I have options. Mocked up the future fab turbo manifold. FYI this manifold does clear the stock steering box. Going to have to modify and tig a new drain pipe for the oil return. But other than that couldn't be happier . Happy Friday folks

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Cleaned and prepped the metal dash about a month ago. Here's the only photo I found of that process. Primer and painted it satin black. It had a lot of surface rust. Also after I pulled the metal frame out I actually got to see what the original color to my 2 door nice yellow.

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Did some TIG welding at my buddy house today. Cant wait to get my own machine. Anyhow welded on some male end AN fittings today for my heater core set up. Shit was a PITA. That old piping was not friendly at all. My buddy helped me fab up a new oil drain for the turbo. I gotta make sure, the next time I order weld on fitting I get the correct ones. These did the job regardless.

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Added some Fatmat sound deadener that I bough a year or two ago to the driver side firewall and floor pans. Gonna finish it off tomorrow. Then add the beauty tape to seal up the seams so it looks really clean.

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Got my S13.4 valve cover back a few weeks ago from Mario at TSR in Gardena CA. This should help big time since the S14 had better baffling.

Also got my Ron Francis wiring harness. To wire the chassis up. My car was a bare shell and didn't come with one. I had bought a 510 harness but decided not to use it. To many variables between models. I know some of you wouldn't agree to going this route as its time consuming and a pain. I rather have a new system instead of a 49 year old harness.

SpeedHut gauges came in also. Pretty stoked on these! My last speedo that came with the car didn't have the GPS module. This one does! So it should make things super easy when it comes time to set it up.

Mocked up the gauges, Im gonna have to work on the fuel gauge, sits in a bit to far and doesn't line up right with the face cover.

Gauges look great in the stock cluster! Looks like a good fit.

woah! someone using a non-stock harness should wake up all the nay-sayers and liven up the debateseastbaysolo_73 wrote: ↑06 Jul 2019 13:44I know some of you wouldn't agree to going this route as its time consuming and a pain.

everything is so fresh and clean, I get it - fresh clean harness too!
Re: Devil in a red dress.
I haven't started my wiring yet but I agree with you! I'm also going to start fresh since everything else is brand new. I didn't feel like putting that much effort in everything and shove crusty 45 year old wiring back into the car. Good luck! Please share your experience, I'll need it!

Re: Devil in a red dress.
Thank man, I will try and do my best to document it. Should be pretty funny since I don't know anything about wiring. I hope I don't start a fire. lolFred_L-P wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019 18:59 I haven't started my wiring yet but I agree with you! I'm also going to start fresh since everything else is brand new. I still have some odds and ends to work out with the steering rack. Still need to have a machine shop cut my spacer's. Just haven't had the time. Also waiting on my front wheels to get back from Love20bee So I can drop the motor back in. But wiring is coming soon. Need a busman and a few other things.
