Hi guys,
Almost bought a green 510 for $400 in 1976, I was 16, my parents said forget it not happening, I've wanted one ever since. As you know the prices have been going crazy the last few yrs and thought I would never get into the game.
That's all in the past, just lucked into a 1973 2 door 510 project that the owner knew he would never finish so put it up for sale, comes with all panels, all glass, most of the interior and a SR20DET and matching trans.
I am sooo pumped!
Spent 4-5 hrs reading as much as I could here at the 510realm and it's a steep learning curve, many more nights of reading to go.
I have restored 3 240z/280z and I love how well supported they are in aftermarket goodies, can anyone give me some of the 510 vendors? I've been looking around but haven't found very many yet.
Thanks,
Chris

If you are looking for 510 vendors there are a bunch but I have used Techno Toys Tuning and Futofab myself.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Thanks guys but going through the Datsport was cruel, got all excited about the cool stuff they sell then saw they were in Australia, the shipping will be insane.

The shipping from Datsport is significant, but I wouldn't call it insane. Given the quality and selection of parts it is worth it. Just make sure you figure out all the stuff you need and make one big order.
The company motto seems to be "We're not happy 'till you're not happy."

Don't worry about shipping... I have to get almost everything from outside Europe.
Good luck with the build!

Welcome aboard. As others have mentioned DP racing, and Futofab are great resources. I have bought a lot from DP racing. Don at DP used to race 510's and is very knowledgeable and his prices are reasonable. Personally I would rather support smaller businesses like his instead of Techno Toy Tuning though I have bought some stuff from Techno Toy and they seem to make good stuff as well. I have also bought a fair amount from Futofab and Dave is a member and Supporter here. http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/ is a good resource for some oem (or reproduction) stock parts.
