Wanted: Under dash air conditioning unit - found

Post by cwd240z »

I'm looking for one of those dealer options, plastic under dash air conditioning duct housings that have 3 vents. I don't need the fan motor, evaporator or any of the mechanical parts, I just need the plastic housing with the vents. Doesn't have to be perfect, but not broken to bits either. I'm located in Dallas and could drive to pick up if not terribly far. Due to it's size, shipping would probably be pricey. Thanks!

I've attached a picture of what I'm looking for:

I've got one I tried to sell on ebay. Got a winning bid but the buyer couldn't come through with funds. I put it back on the shelf for another day but it is still for sale. The shell is in decent condition. It doesn't extend fully to the driver's side though. The blower motor works great, the vents are there but the vanes need replacing somehow. (I planned to 3d print some and rebuild that way.) The condenser is there, as is other internals. There is one crack in the housing due to the PO mounting incorrectly, but it is repairable. I'll find a photo or two. Located in CO.

Thanks for the photo of yours, but I'd really rather have one that extends to the far side of the steering column as well.

Good shape for 50 years old. One crack on top was repaired with epoxy, will not show when installed. All the vents are complete. They are loose, but6 will hold position. It has an expansion valve and was used with r134A. It is complete with mounting brackets still attached. I uses some JB weld on the drain lines since they leaked before repair. I also have the condenser that was used with the unit. It's small, but fit the stock opening. It is NOT OEM. The under hood hardware is on the car, with is a VG30, so not L16 parts. I made the hoses for the system, nothing much available these days. Was functioning well when removed.
