One funny story..kinda.

Back when we built the 3 510's, Andy of course used these BIG rod ends. A fellow had come into the shop and saw how big these were and criticized Andy for such big and HEAVY rod ends. Andy said nothing.

So, 2 weeks later, at a road race at our long closed Westwood race track, he came flying out of one of the tighter and highly loaded corners....and....BING...his little rod end snapped, of course instantaneously, where he rocketed off into the bank, severely damaging the left side of the car. Andy walked by the fellow in the pits...and said..."Wow, those little ones aren't that strong are they!?"

Thank you very much for sharing. I very much appreciate you taking the time to get me the pics. The rod ens on my TC rods appear to be the same size as the ones you're using. I wasn't planning on small rod ends if/when I use more of them in the suspension and I'd really rather not crash my car. Especially these days when a crappy rusted shell is going for more than a couple grand... And a driver.... forget about it...

Armed with the info you've provided I'm exploring some other avenues I had previously ignored.

Ok so, 6 month quickie review:

Works as advertised. Steering feels GREAT. If you're not converting to a rack and pinion, don't have a good idler arm, or haven't decided to buy this idler or one of the delrin converted ones from the various suppliers (which is also a great option): Buy this. You will not be sorry!
