Need some help with cannon manifold linkage
Need some help with cannon manifold linkage
Does anyone have a picture of the linkage for the weber type cannon manifold. I have a set of solex carbs on it so Im not sure its exactly the same but at least I will have an idea of what is missing. It appears that the linkage goes under the manifold. If someone could post a pic or email it to me I could really use it. Thanks

Re: Need some help with cannon manifold linkage
Wow that picture further confuses me. I thought they pretty much made a cannon manifold for down draft carbs and side draft carbs... I guess we have 2 different types... maybe they changed for the vehicle they were intended for. L series engines were used in a few different chassis before they were discontinued. It looks like though there is a plate that sits between the manifold and the carbs that has the linkage brackets on it. My manifold is twice as long as that manifold without the plate. The K&N sits 1/4" away from the master brake cylinder. My manifold also rises up several inches so that it gets really close to the hood. The linkage on mine definately goes under the manifold if installed in a 510. I mocked it up on a L20B in the 510 I have at home. I know the L20B is about 1/2" taller than the L16 blocks. It should still be underneath though. Can anyone identify what is going on. I have Solex/Mikuni carbs that came off of a 2000 roadster apparently. They are for all intensive purposes the same as the carbs in the picture above.
Thanks

Sorry about that, mine is a MIKUNI intake, just thought you wanted generic pics as most cannon I have seen have the runners cast into them like mine with a shaft that runs thru it...
Re: Need some help with cannon manifold linkage
The manifold that you have was made for the 620 pickup. It has that S-bend was to clear the master cylinder. To be honest they are not of the best design. I would actually just recomend getting new manifold that has a better design.

Re: Need some help with cannon manifold linkage
I would trade my Cannon manifold for that S designed one anyday
Cannon have the small 1.25 ports. The Mikuni and Nismo one has the 1.5 inch port.
I was trying to change my Cannon manifold to a Troy Ermish 18RG center wire pull ,but the center linake mechenism would hit the manofold so it will no go to FULL Throttle. Just a Note
