I'm not sure if these would be the best first time welding project, because they are a very integral part to the front suspension, and if they break you will most likely end up in a ditch, or another car, or the guard rail...

But here is my build thread, it details how I make them a little more.

You don't want to know how long I searched for a source for M16x1 nuts before I found that.

What about just using the jamb nuts intended for the 280zx tie rods? Those look good, I am going to go with a similar setup. I was trying to find a tie rod with 5/8" thread since it is easy to find tubing or a radius rod that is 5/8-18 thread.

The jam nuts are not the hard ones to find. Those are M14x1.5, which is a very common thread. The hard one is where the T/C rod mounts to the body, which is usually where the tie rod ends thread into the steering rack. That thread is M16x1, which is not a very common thread.
